NATCHEZ — Services for Montie Sue Lambert, 85, of Natchez, who died Tuesday, April 26, 2016, will be 11 a.m. Friday at Stanton Baptist Church with the Rev. Steve Purvis and the Rev. Mike Harrigill officiating.

Burial will follow at 2 p.m. at Union Baptist Church Cemetery in Lincoln County under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Friday at the church.

Mrs. Lambert was born Oct. 28, 1930, in Crowville, La., the daughter of Eulys G. Knox and Virgie Calhoun Knox.

She was a faithful servant of the Lord Jesus Christ, a loving mother and grandmother.

Mrs. Lambert was a charter member of Stanton Baptist Church and served as a member of the choir and adult ladies Sunday school teacher. She was a retired nurse from Natchez Regional Medical Center, an avid reader, traveler and gardener.

Mrs. Lambert was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John Edward Lambert Sr.; one son, John Edward Lambert Jr.; one daughter, Sharron Pickering; two brothers, Billy and Bobby Knox; and one sister, Virginia Slade.

Survivors include four children, Judy McReynolds and husband, Nolan, of Baton Rouge, Lorraine Henderson and husband, Donald, Carolyn Burchfield and husband, Larry, and James F. Lambert and wife, Pauline, all of Natchez; nine grandchildren, Michelle McReynolds and Michael McReynolds of Baton Rouge, Melissa Hallman of Jasper, Ala., Donnie Strittman of Fayette, Ala., Chip Pickering of Brookhaven, Beth Smith of Denham Springs, La., Brenda Brown, Brandy McReynolds and Boo Burchfield, all of Vidalia; 16 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; one brother, James Knox of West Monroe, La.; three sisters, Doris Pressley and Helen Johnson of Fort Smith, Ark., and Frances Jones and husband, Jack, of Jonesboro, Ark.

Pallbearers will be Boo Burchfield, Donnie Strittman, Chip Pickering, Buddy Brown, Todd Smith and Michael McReynolds.

Honorary pallbearer will be Larry Burchfield.
