Hawk was first appointed as interim city clerk in August and subsequently appointed as clerk.

She is returning to Georgia to attend to family matters.

Also during the meeting, the board of aldermen is scheduled to obtain a description of the area cover the proposed swimming pool and soccer fields on property near Liberty Road. The property is owned by the Natchez-Adams School District.

Mayor Darryl Grennell said the today’s business is related to the Adams County Board of Supervisors and board of aldermen voting last month to ask the school district to temporarily deed the property near Liberty Road to speed up construction of the pool.

Following an initial bid of $1.7 million for project, higher than the original $1 million estimate, the city and county decided to take over the bidding process from the recreation commission.

Today’s meeting is set for 11:30 a.m. in the Barrel Room of Bowie’s Tavern.
