Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Ben V. Ceasor, 22, 123 Canal St., Ferriday, on Friday.

Clayton Police Chief Bobby Madison said at least two firearms were involved in the drive-by shooting on Loomis Street in Clayton last Tuesday.

Three men in a vehicle reportedly driven by Ceasor allegedly shot at the house at approximately 1 a.m., where two people were inside sleeping, Madison said. The two people inside were not injured, he said.

Madison said five to six bullets struck two vehicles and the home and officers are still recovering casings. Of the casings recovered and sent to the state crime lab, Madison said the casings were from two different firearms.

State police attempted to stop the vehicle last Tuesday, but Ceasor allegedly evaded troopers, Madison said. He was found Friday at a residence on Louisiana 900 in Clayton.

Madison said firearms have been recovered, but he would not know if they were connected with the shooting until the crime lab report comes back.

The motive for the crime is still being investigated, Madison said.

“We are not going to tolerate this type of crime in Clayton,” Madison said. “We are trying to make this a safer place for people to live.”

When Ceasor was arrested, Madison said Griffin and Neal were reportedly present and arrested for different charges. Madison said the attempted, second-degree murder and criminal damage to property charges were added later.

Ceasor was in jail Tuesday evening on a $78,000 bond. Neal and Griffin were in jail Tuesday evening with no bond set.
