NATCHEZ — Services for Jesse James Pollard Sr., 63, of Natchez, who died Friday, Dec. 1, 2017, at Glenburney Nursing Home, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Daughters of Zion Baptist Church with the Rev. Stanford Cruel officiating.

Burial will follow at Sunset View Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Bateaste Memorial Funeral Home.    

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

Mr. Pollard was born Jan. 27, 1954, in Natchez, the son of Henry and Anna Pollard.

He was a 1975 graduate of North Natchez High School. His employment included Jeff Davis Hospital from 1978 to 1990, Fidelity Tire Company from 1990 to 1998, and Natchez Adams School District from 2002 to 2012.

Mr. Pollard was a member of Daughters of Zion Baptist Church.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and family.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Maxine L. Pollard.

Survivors include one daughter, Christy McKinney and husband, Carlos, of Gulfport; one son, Jesse Pollard Jr. and fiancée, Veronica Harris, of Natchez; one grandson, Carlos McKinney of Gulfport; three sisters, Annie Clark, Betty Wilson and Martha Gooden, all of Natchez; five brothers, Harry Pollard Sr. and wife, Rosetta, of Houston, Henry Pollard Jr., Robert Pollard and wife, Gloria, Michael L. Pollard and Thomas Pollard, all of Natchez; one sister-in-law, Dorothy L. May of Natchez; two special children, Jerrold Lyles and wife, LaKita, of Killeen, Texas, and Shykeeda Simmons of Dallas; and a number of other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Gregory Clark, Marion Pollard, Charles Gooden Jr., Thomas Pollard Jr., Anthony Green Sr. and Sylvester Wilson Jr.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jesse J. Pollard Jr., Carlos L. McKinney Sr., Carlos L. McKinney Jr., Henry Pollard, Harry Pollard Sr., Robert Pollard, Michael L. Pollard, Thomas Pollard and North Natchez Class of 1975.
