FERRIDAY — Services for Linous Johnson Wilkinson Jr., 82, of Ferriday, who died Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2018, at his residence, will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Ferriday First Baptist Church with the Rev. Richard Cullum and Randy Maxwell officiating.

Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the church.

Mr. Wilkinson was born Dec. 22, 1935, in Natchez, the son of Linous Johnson Wilkinson Sr. and Rosalie Kirven.

He served his country in the U.S. Army and was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church.

Mr. Wilkinson coached Huntington Lady Hounds softball, Ferriday Pigtail and Ponytail, Natchez Lady Bombers and Ferriday Dixie Youth.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jane Wilkinson; one son, Jerry Lee Lewis Jr.; his parents; and two brothers, Louis Wilkinson and Jimmy Kirven.

Survivors include two sons, Jimmy Wilkinson and wife, Debbie, and Ronnie Lewis and wife, Melanie, all of Ferriday; five grandchildren, Somer Lance and husband, Roy, Heather Wilkinson, Ronnie Lewis Jr., Megan Wike and husband, Eric, and Jimmy Wilkinson II; and eight great-grandchildren, Ryan, Abbey, Luke and Linous Lance, Kolby, Brooklee, Reagan and Sadie Wike.

He also leaves his beloved dog, Lucy Lewis.

Pallbearers will be Junior Smith, E.W. Smith, Robert Smith, Mike Butler, Henry Weeks, Josh Craig and Scotty Goodman.

Honorary pallbearers will be James Magee, Kenny Wayne Byrnes, Bobby Enterkin, Mike Grantham, Gene Brashier, Huey Moak, Larry White, Curtis Savoy, Glenn McGlothin, Ralph Cox, Ricky Raven, Bo Whittington, Sheriff Kenneth Hedrick, co-workers at Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office and the Huntington Lady Hounds softball team.
