FLORENCE — In what was likely the final two games ever for Trinity Episcopal baseball, the Saints fell in an MAIS District 4-A varsity doubleheader sweep to the Discovery Christian School Lions Tuesday afternoon.

In the first game, Jakarius Caston struck out 10 batters and held Discovery Christian to just three hits, but the Lions took advantage of five Trinity Episcopal errors for a 9-1 victory.

Winning pitcher Chase Williams allowed just four hits. However, one of them was a solo home run

by Tre White in the top of the third inning that made it a 2-1 game. But the Lions answered with three runs in the bottom of the frame to go ahead 5-1.

Game 2 was all Discovery Christian as Camron Philips pitched a two-hitter and went 3-for-3 with a triple and two doubles in a 15-1 win over the Saints that lasted just three innings.

Whether Trinity Episcopal (0-7, 0-5) plays host to Rebul Academy in a make-up game is still to be determined, but it probably will not be rescheduled.

Delta Charter 7, St. Frederick 5

MONROE, La. — Cole McGivaren hit a home run, drove in two runs and scored two runs to lead the Delta Charter School Storm to a 7-5 comeback victory over the St. Frederick High School Warriors Tuesday afternoon in an LHSAA District 2-1A game.

Delta Charter scored four runs in the top of the second inning to break a scoreless tie, only to have St. Frederick respond with a five-run rally in the bottom of the second.

However, that would be all the runs the home team would end up. The Storm used a two-run rally in the top of the fifth inning to take the lead for good at 6-5 and added an insurance run in the top of the sixth.

Trey Poole went 1-for-2 with one RBI and one run scored while Trenton Miller was 1-for-3 with two RBIs.

Delta Charter (8-11, 4-3) hosts St. Frederick High School at 5 p.m. Thursday.

Grace Christian 14, Monterey 2
