LAKE CHARLES, La. — Lorena Elmira Steele Ferrington, 92, of Eva, La., died Thursday, Sept. 27, 2018, at her daughter’s residence in Moss Bluff, La.

A graveside service will be announced at a later date.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson Funeral Homes in Lake Charles, La.

Mrs. Ferrington was born Nov. 10, 1925, in Eva, the daughter of David and Belle Steele.

She loved gardening, flowers and cooking at her home. She also enjoyed shopping and loved decorating for all the seasons of the year.

Ferrington was preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Diane Landry and Marcia Butler; one brother, Wesley Marion Steele; and three sisters, Elsie Mouch, Mildred Pecanty and Betty Smith.

Survivors include one son, William Wesberry and wife, Tamara, of Buna, Texas; one daughter, Carolyn Coleman of Moss Bluff; one sister, Linda Manuel and husband, Del, of Moss Bluff; nine grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
