NATCHEZ — The Natchez-Adams County Chamber of Commerce’s Gala Membership Celebration is an opportunity to have lots of fun while recognizing those who make the Natchez-Adams County area a better place, said Debbie Hudson, Chamber president and chief executive officer.

The gala will be 5:30-9 p.m. Nov. 13 at the Natchez Convention Center.

Hudson said this year’s theme, “Past, Present, Future — Connecting the Community for 110 years,” features the best chefs, musicians, a silent auction, beer vendors and drinks.

Amid all the entertainment is an awards ceremony that will honor one male and one female with the Natchezian Award. Also, the Small Business Award will be presented to a business with 25 employees or less and a Large Business Award will be presented to a business with more than 25 employees.

Hudson said an anonymous committee made up of past recipients chooses the winners each year, and that winners are revealed the night of the awards.

Hudson said 15 Chamber members or businesses make up this year’s nominees, and Hudson said it’s a fun way to recognize those who go above and beyond in promoting the area.

“It gives us a way to take time once a year to remind each other why we’re in this community and how businesses and networking make a difference,” Hudson said. “All businesses make a difference, but these do something for the community.”

The night will begin with a cocktail hour from 5:30-6:30 p.m.

Hudson said that throughout the evening, guests can bid on silent auction items that will include dinners and overnight stays at some of Natchez’s finest antebellum houses, an array of local artwork and a scenic flight over historic Natchez.

Hudson said the food and craft cocktails offered would be much like those offered at the Natchez Food & Wine Festival.

Music will begin with the Alcorn State University Jazz Band. Alluvial Funk, featuring Brint Anderson, Fred Parker, Drew David and Bubba McCabe, will perform at 7:30 p.m.

Sponsorships include a select number of seats for dinner and entertainment. Sponsorships are $2,000 for 20 seats, $1,000 for 10, $500 for five, $250 for two.

Regular admission is $75 per individual or $100 per individual future Chamber member.
