ANDALUSIA, Ala. — Memorial services for Jack Corbitt Soles Jr., 67, of Natchez, who died Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2019, at Glenburney Nursing Home in Natchez, will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Foreman Funeral Home Chapel in Andalusia, Ala., with the Rev. John Eiland officiating.
Burial will follow at Andalusia Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Mississippi Funeral and Cremation Society and Foreman Funeral Home.
Mr. Soles was born Nov. 23, 1951, the son of Jack Corbitt Soles Sr. and Eleanor Mae Kilpatrick Soles.
He was a 1969 graduate of Natchez-Adams High School and earned his associate degree in respiratory therapy in 1999, from Copiah-Lincoln Community College. He also attended Hinds Junior College, University of Mississippi and University of Southern Mississippi.
Before becoming a certified respiratory therapist working in the Miss-Lou area, Jack worked at the Clarion-Ledger, the Cock of the Walk and Natchez Market.
Soles enjoyed the outdoors and loved fishing and camping. He was an avid reader and especially enjoyed nonfiction, such as history, unsolved mysteries and biographies. He loved living in the south and exploring its history. He was known for his curious nature, his intelligence and his wit. He will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Soles was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his sisters, Cynthia Goodin and husband, Tony, of LaFrance, S.C., and Linda Stone and husband, Robin, of Hannibal, Mo.; four nieces and nephews; three great-nephews; and a number of cousins.
Special thanks to the staff of The Bridge at Riverland Medical Center as well as the staff and residents at Glenburney Nursing Home who cared for Jack.
