The boys state championship-winning team in the 4,200 meter dash with a winning time of 1 minute 28 seconds are Kobe Dillion, Jaquarius Davis, Damion Milligan and Jamien Green.

“Our senior Jamien Green lettered all four years,” said Coach Kenneth Kitchen. “He has been to state, three years in a row and ran the anchor leg on that team

The girl’s 4×100 meter dash state championship-winning team members are Jakayla Griggs, Da’Ashton Dragg, Diamond Johnson and Shekayla Miller.

They ran their race in a time of  49.52 seconds to win their state championship.

“The future looks bright for our girls team,” Kitchen said. “We had two freshmen, Jakayla and Shekayla, on our 4×100 relay team and 15 freshman girls total on our team this year. Shekayla also placed second in the individual 200 meter dash with a time of 26.2 seconds.”

Winning an individual state championship is DaAshton Dragg in the high jump, when she cleared 5 feet, 2 inches in her competition.
