NATCHEZ—Jimmy Lavone Woods Sr., 71, of Washington, died Tuesday, May 28, 2019, at Merit Health Natchez.
There will be a private burial at the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.
Mr. Woods was born March 6, 1948, in Sontag, the son of O.T. Woods Sr. and Della Pitts Woods.
He served honorably in the U.S. Army as a Vietnam veteran. He loved spending time with his family, watching television and fishing.
Woods was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Larry Wayne Woods; and two sisters, Linda Woods Stern and Marie Woods Sanders.
Survivors include his wife, Ellen M. Woods; one son, Jimmy L. Woods Jr.; stepdaughter, Tunya Nevels Renfrow; three grandchildren, Destiny Marie Woods, Cory Renfrow and Carrie Renfrow; one brother, Otha Woods; sister-in-law, Sarah Case Carman; and a number of nieces and nephews.
