NATCHEZ— Services for Sam Edward Dunbar, 62, of Natchez, who died Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2019, in Jackson, will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Antioch Baptist Church with the Rev. J.L. Hammitte officiating.    
Burial will be Monday at 10 a.m. at the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of West Gate Funeral Home.
A “Celebration of Life” service will be 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.  Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until time of the service Saturday at the church.
Sam was born Oct. 22, 1957, in Natchez, the son of Leonard Long and Charity Dunbar.
He was a 1975 graduate of North Natchez High School and a 1984 graduate of University of Southern Mississippi. He was a member of the Wilderness Baptist Church, where he served as the head deacon.
Sam also served in the U.S. Army.
His hobbies include listening to music and spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed attending church services.
Sam was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, David Dunbar.
Survivors include his loving wife, Kathleen Dunbar; three daughters, Valeria Harris and husband, Hayes, Vanessa Turner and husband, Timothy, and Cassandra Woods and husband, Darrius; five brothers, Grant Dunbar and wife, Mary, Willie Dunbar and wife, Violet, Leonard Dunbar and wife, Debra, Abe Dunbar and wife, Larzette, and Michael Dunbar; three sisters, Janie Dunbar and husband, Lee, Charity Dumas, and Sarah Landrum and husband, Thomas; two grandchildren, Shekinah Douglas and Dwight Douglas Jr.; and a number of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
