NATCHEZ — Services for George Oliver Prescott Jr., 63, of Natchez, who died Feb. 23, 2020, in Natchez, will be 11 a.m. Friday at First Baptist Church Natchez, with Rev. Denny Braswell officiating.

Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Friday at the church.

Mr. Prescott was born Nov. 13, 1956, in Columbus, Mississippi, the son of George Oliver Prescott Sr. and Mary Josephine Wilson Prescott.

George enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and reading historical novels, especially the Bible. Growing up he enjoyed the outdoors, camping in the woods along the creek and hours by the campfire. He was Cathy’s tall, handsome, gentle giant that made her complete. They were childhood sweethearts and loved each other dearly.

He is preceded in death by his parents, George O. Prescott, Sr. and Mary Jo Prescott; one brother, Richard “Ricky” Glen Prescott; and one grandson, Tullen Prescott.

Survivors include two sons, Drey Prescott and wife Mary Margaret, their children Jon Oliver Prescott and Patrick Prescott; Colton Prescott, his children Corvan and Beckett Prescott, Adaline Denny; one sister, Dee Ann Herring and husband David; numerous nieces and nephews, Autum Cooper, Elizabeth Stewart, Victoria Townsend, Mystic Smith, Bethany Prince, Garrett Gamberi, Brittany Gamberi, Tyler Smith and Lily Smith.
