Getting tested: Local resident sends photos from Natchez mobile testing site

Adams County hosted a free testing site on April 2. Only those with approved screened appointments were allowed into the parking lot, and members of the Mississippi National Guard were dressed in the appropriate protective equipment to interview each person before they were cleared to go to the testing area. A member of the Mississippi National Guard from Hattiesburg MS asked a few questions of each person to determine testing priority and then placed the test kit on underneath the windshield wiper of the car before moving on to the next step. (submitted)

A local resident who came to be tested at the one-day mobile testing site shared these photos of the operations at the Adams County safe room Thursday.
On Thursday, the University Medical Center in cooperation with the State Board of Health, set up a drive-through COVID-19 testing facility in Natchez. C-Spire developed an app that anyone could download and receive a video consult via smartphone with a member of the UMMC screening team. After screening, those deemed at risk for COVID-19 were assigned an appointment time and a code verifying their appointment. The testing was done in the parking lot of the Adams County Safe Room, and was supported by the Mississippi Highway Patrol and National Guard.
