Stepping onto the playground at Ridgecrest School in Ferriday was like stepping back in time Friday afternoon. Civil War re-enactors along with students in the History Club set up camp between the swing sets and under the trees.

During their class periods, students visited the various camps learning something different at each one.

They learned about the soldiers, how to make candles and spin wool. Another camp featured group of girls dressed in period dresses teaching their classmates the Virginia Reel.
