Services for Margaret Sabin George, 92, of Natchez, who died Wednesday, March 28, 2007, at her residence, will be 10 a.m. today at Grace United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dayna Goff officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time today at the church.
Mrs. George was born March 17, 1915, in Grenada, the daughter of Walter and Margaret Witty Sabin. She was an active member of Grace Methodist Church and Sunday School teacher. She loved the Monday morning Prayer Group and Circle. She was a member of Order of Eastern Star where she served as Past Worthy Patron. Mrs. George was a 1936 graduate of Mississippi State College for Women. She was a retired librarian and school teacher for the Natchez Public Schools. She had a “green thumb” and loved her flowers and could grow anything. She had traveled the world, but above all, she loved her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband of 64 years, Harry B. George.
Survivors include her daughters, Lillian Patricia Hindle of Baton Rouge and Harriet G. Taylor of Arlington, Va.; grandsons, John V. Hindle of Baton Rouge and Dean Moses and wife, Lucie, of Berkeley, Calif.; granddaughters, Margaret Sokol and husband, Ron, of Houston and Rose Vicknair and husband, Barry, of LaPlace; great-grandchildren, Felix Moses and Milo Moses, both of Berkeley, Thomas Sokol and Mark Sokol, both of Houston, and Alexis Vicknair of LaPlace; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Special thanks to her angels, Ruby Richards, Edna Johnson, Margaret Robison and Daisy Baker.
Pallbearers will be members of the Masonic Lodge.
