NATCHEZ – Services for Allen C. Strickland, 44, of Ridgecrest, formerly of Natchez, who died Friday, Nov. 30, 2007, at Mississippi Baptist Hospital, in Jackson, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Daughters of Zion Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert Strickland officiating.

Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Robert D. Mackel and Sons Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Strickland was born Oct. 22, 1963, in Adams County, the son of Ernest Strickland and Melvia Dromgoole Strickland. He was a 1981 graduate of North Natchez High School and was employed with Great River Olds-Nissan. Mr. Strickland was a member of Daughters of Zion Baptist Church where he sang in the choir. He was also a member of the L.F. and C. Society.

He was preceded in death by his mother; and grandparents, Allen and Edna Dromgoole and Jessie and Louise Strickland.

Survivors include his wife, Janice Jefferson Strickland of Ridgecrest; son, Allen Strickland Jr. of Natchez; daughter, Brittney Strickland of Memphis, Tenn.; stepsons, Jeremy Jefferson and De’Edmond Neal, both of Ridgecrest; his father and stepmother, Ernest and Ruth Yvonne Strickland, both of Natchez; brother, Ernest Wayne Strickland of Natchez; sisters, Felicia Strickland and husband, Kenny, both of Natchez, and Harriet Murphy of Biloxi; stepbrothers, Andrew Smith of Jackson, James Smith of Florida and Michael Smith of Natchez; mother-in-law, Alice Jefferson of Ferriday; father-in-law, Willie Carter of Houston; former wife, Jacqueline Woods Strickland of Memphis; godmother, Isabell Gibson of Natchez; and other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be friends of the family.
