NATCHEZ – Services for Gladys Donaldson, 93, of Natchez, who died Thursday, Feb. 28, 2008, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at George F. West Funeral Home Chapel with Curtis Riggs officiating.
Burial will follow at Pine Hill Memorial Park under the direction of George F. West Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Donaldson was born March 2, 1914, in Adams County, the daughter of Willie and Elsie Adams Griffin. She was educated in the Jefferson County Public Schools. Mrs. Donaldson was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on Sept. 21, 1985.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leondus Donaldson Sr.; three brothers, William “Man” Griffin and Willie “Bro” Griffin, twins, and Ernest “Ford” Griffin; and four sisters, Beulah Gooden, Learntee Garner, Elsie Mae Bell and Ruth A. Tucker.
Survivors include two sons, Willie L. Donaldson and companion, Bennie Ruth Lambert, both of Oceanside, Calif., and Leondus Donaldson Jr. and wife, Sandra, both of Atoka, Tenn.; four daughters, Edna R. Donaldson of Natchez, Jaylynn Estella Fleming and husband, Walter, both of Athens, Ga., Kathleen Wallace and husband, Flynn, both of Byram, and Elizabeth A. Zachary of DeSoto, Texas; one sister, Virgie L. Smith of Detroit; one brother-in-law, Willie Bell of Natchez; 13 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be grandchildren.
