NATCHEZ – Services for James Alfred Tenner Jr., 59, of Natchez, who died Friday, April 4, 2008, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at 11 a.m. today at Pilgrim Baptist Church with the Rev. Melvin L. White officiating.
Burial will follow, on Tenner Road, under the direction of Webb Funeral Home.
Mr. Tenner was born Dec. 15, 1948, in Jefferson County, the son of Josephine Curtis and James Alfred Tenner Sr. He attended Sadie V. Thompson High School and served in the U.S. Army from Oct. 1968 to Aug. 1975.
Mr. Tenner was baptized at an early age. He was a member of Hawk’s Riding Club of West Stiers Lane.
He was preceded in death by his father; and three brothers, James White, W.C. Tenner and Grover Tenner.
Survivors include his mother; his companion of 35 years, Rosie Lee York; two children, Letitia Floyd and husband, Vincent, both of St. Louis and James York and wife, Tiffany, both of Natchez; three sisters, Pearlina Hill and husband, Frank, Brenda Proby and Julie Boxley, all of Natchez; two uncles, Roosevelt White and Anderson Tenner and wife, Clarabelle; one aunt, Izelia Ware, all of St. Louis; two aunts-in-law, Mary Tenner of Fayette and Lea Ethel Levison of Natchez; one sister-in-law, Ola Mae Tenner of Natchez; five grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
