NATCHEZ – Services for Bobby Gerald Walsworth, of Ferriday, who died Sunday, June 8, 2008, at his residence, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at First United Pentecostal Church, in Natchez, with Brother Cecil Grantham, Brother Ronny Westberry, Brother Milton Rushing and Brother James Johnson officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Walsworth was born Jan. 18, 1939, in Saline, La., the son of Leamon Walsworth and Vera Cook Walsworth. He was a logger, an avid sportsman, a devoted husband, and he loved his family and friends. He was a Christian who lived his faith, served his Lord and was confident in God’s promise to “wipe away all tears, no more death, no sorrow or crying, no more pain, to be lifted to paradise.”
Survivors include his wife of 23 years and constant companion, his “Precious Jewell”; four daughters, Bobby Sue Ford and husband, Chester, Dianne Cross, Teresa “Terri” Carroll and husband, Mark, and Phyllis Michael; two brothers, James and wife, Jean, and Kenneth and wife, Ann, all of Natchez; two sisters, Irene Manchester and husband, Donald, both of Vidalia, and Imogene Robin and husband, Sylvan, both of Ferriday; five grandchildren, Christopher Cross, Billy Wayne Franklin, Jacob Holsted, Jonathan Carroll and Austin Carroll; and a number of nieces, nephews, friends and church family.
Pallbearers will be Donnie Manchester, Tommy Loftin, Jamie Walsworth, Jeremy Walsworth, Brandon Walsworth and Chester Ford.
Honorary pallbearers will be Shane Walsworth, Tony Brocato, Paul Faulkner and Pete Waddel.
