NATCHEZ – Services for Johnnie Ridley, 76, of Natchez, who died Sunday, June 29, 2008, at Crown Health and Rehab, in Natchez, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Ebeneezer Baptist Church with the Rev. Leon Howard officiating.
Burial will follow at the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Robert D. Mackel and Sons Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Ridley was born Sept. 24, 1931, in Natchez, the son of Hanson and Penella Wright Ridley. He was retired from International Paper/Woodlands. Mr. Ridley served in the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by wife, Beatrice “Jane” Fowler Ridley; one brother, James Ridley; four sisters, Mary Ford, Renetta Jones, Princella Jenkins and Carien Rucker.
Survivors include four daughters, Sharron Ridley, Shirley M. Jackson and Felicia Davis, all of Natchez, and Tina Miller of Houston; six sons, Johnny Hone, Favian Moore, Gerald Miller and Eric Miller, all of Natchez, Gregory Miller of Dallas and Edward Miller of Springfield, Ohio; two sisters, Rosetta Washington of Fenwick and Laura Aubrey of San Pueblo, Calif.; one brother, Julius Ridley of Baton Rouge; a special granddaughter, Shavondra Johnson; a special grandson, Larry Johnson Jr.; a special niece, Ann White of Natchez; and a number of other grandchildren, great-grandchildren, relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be friends of the family.
