NATCHEZ – Services for Robert H. “Bob” York Jr., 73, of Natchez, who died Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2008, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at 2 p.m. today at Natchez First Baptist Church with the Rev. Dennis Flach, the Rev. Dan Wynn and Dr. Doug Broome officiating.
Burial will follow at the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time today at the church.
Mr. York was born March 7, 1935, in Birmingham, Ala., the son of Robert H. and Mildred Wolfe York. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Natchez. He was supervisor of fiber and transportation with International Paper Company Woodlands Divisions for a number of years.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Judy York; five sons, Robert Keith York and wife, Kathy, and Kevin Marc York and wife, Julie, all of Birmingham, David G. Mills of Natchez, and D. Scott Mills and wife, Stacey, both of Columbus, and John Christopher Mills and wife, Sarah, both of Katy, Texas; six grandchildren, Kaylyn York of Birmingham, Adrien Mills and Evy Mills, both of Katy, Garrett Mills and Mack Mills, both of Columbus, and Ian Mills of Natchez; one sister, Joan York Marsh of Birmingham; one niece, Joni Marsh Hogan; and one nephew, Fred C. Marsh III, both of Birmingham.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Hogan, Homer Flournoy, Huey Martin, Prine Covington and Sammy Guercio and Terry Fisher.
Honorary pallbearers will be Roy Strickland, Floyd McCalip, Bob Gray and Tom Hughes.
