JONESVILLE — Services for Joseph Mark Davis, 50, of Jonesville, who died Thursday, May 21, 2009, at his residence, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church of Jonesville with the Rev. Marshall Douglas and the Rev. Jimmie Pyles officiating.
Burial will follow at Jena Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home in Jonesville.
Mr. Davis was born June 28, 1958, in Killeen, Texas, the son of Joseph H. and Nellie Davis. He was a 1976 graduate of Block High School and a 1981 graduate of the University of Southwestern Louisiana in Lafayette. He was the co-owner and operator of Davis Farms.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Joe G. and Marjorie Davis; and paternal grandparents, Johnnie and Lillie Edwards.
Survivors include his wife, Joni Ford Davis; two sons, Joseph Matthew Davis and John Michael Davis; one daughter, Jordan Meschelle Davis; his parents, Joseph and Nellie; one brother, Tim Davis and wife, Melissa; father and mother-in-law, Bobby Lee and Evelyn White Ford; two brothers-in-law, Barry Ford and Kyle Ford and wife, Tiffany; one sister-in-law, Jana Ford; two nieces, Zea Ford, all of Jonesville, and Heather Hamilton and husband, Ryan, of Harrisonburg, La.; three nephews, Scott David, Laban Ford, both of Jonesville, and Spencer Yarbrough of McComb; and one great-nephew, Blake Hamilton of Harrisonburg.
Pallbearers will be Paul Lazarus, Harvey Ray White, Kyle Ford, Barry Ford, Ryan Hamilton and David Freeman.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dewayne Wilson, Joe Curry, Scott Davis, Kent Richard, Charlie Riggs, Paul Riggs and Mike Stutson.
