MEADVILLE — Services for Wilbur Monette Sullivan, 68, who died Sunday, Oct. 4, 2009, will be at 10 a.m. today at Franklin Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Emory May officiating.
Burial will follow at Midway Cemetery under the direction of Franklin Funeral Home in Meadville.
Wilbur Monette “Bo” Sullivan Jr. and Joey Richard Sullivan are the sons of Wilbur Monette Sullivan, who is the son of Wilbur Eli Sullivan, who is the son of George “Pa” Stanton Sullivan, who is the son of William Luther Sullivan, who is the son of George Washington Sullivan, who is the son of Dennis Sullivan, born in August 1790, in Georgia, who is the son of Mike O’Sullivan from Ireland.
Mr. Sullivan was born Oct. 21, 1940, in Bunkley. He married Linda Ruth King Aug. 13, 1960. They had their first born son, Wilbur Monette “Bo” Sullivan Jr., March 24, 1962 and their second born son, Joey Richard Sullivan, Nov. 14, 1963.
Monette was employed for 23 years by Armstrong Tire and Rubber Company in Natchez. He retired from the Mississippi State Highway Department.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbur Eli Sullivan and Susan Annie Bankston Sullivan; and one sister, Virginia Ann Sullivan Rockhill.
Survivors include his two sons; two sisters, Marshalene Sullivan Hazlip and husband, Lee, and Gwen Sullivan; two step-grandsons, Michael Seth Smith and James Lucas Smith and wife, Amanda; and a very special friend, Elizabeth Hawkins.
Pallbearers will be Archie Campbell, Willie Campbell, Willie Havard, Larry Dickerson, Hilton Havard, Lesley Holland and Lucas Smith.
Honorary pallbearers will be Justin May, Austin May, Ricky King, Bill Daniels and Terry Middleton.
