NATCHEZ — Services for Carla Ann Johnson Lea, 52, of Jackson formerly of Natchez, who died Tuesday, May 25, 2010, at her residence, will be at 11 a.m. today at Trinity Episcopal Church with the Rev. Samuel A. Tomlinson III officiating.

Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time today at the church.

Ms. Lea was born Oct. 26, 1957, in Natchez, the daughter of Charles LaPierre and Carla Collier Johnson.

She was a 1975 graduate of Trinity Episcopal Day School and attended Louisiana State University. She was a very talented cook, gardener and flower arranger. She was a member of Pilgrimage Garden Club and Trinity Episcopal Church while a resident of Natchez. Ms. Lea was also a member of St. Stephens Episcopal Church in Birmingham, Ala.

Ms. Lea was preceded in death by one brother, Charles Johnson Jr.; her paternal grandparents, William F. and Lillian W. Johnson; her maternal grandparents, Benjamin C. and Byron N. Collier.

Survivors include her parents of Natchez; one daughter, Elise Marshall Jones and husband, Eric of Chatham, N.J.; two sons, Sean Marshall of Baton Rouge and Collier Lea of Fort Worth, Texas; one grandson, Eli Marshall of Baton Rouge; two granddaughters, Caroline Jones and Madeleine Jones of Chatham, N.J.; one sister, Byron Johnson Edgecombe and husband, Kent of Madison; one brother, Bill Johnson and wife, Susan of Jackson; one sister-in-law, Debbie Johnson of Prairieville, La.; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and her faithful dog, Jack.

Pallbearers will be Greg Brooking, John Mott Coffey, William Edgecombe, Jeff Richardson, Joe Sewell and Ralph Shields.

Memorials may be made to Trinity Episcopal Day School; the Susan G. Komen for the Cure, (formerly Komen Breast Cancer Foundation) or a charity of choice.
