NATCHEZ — Services for Samuel Dixon, 93, who died Friday, Aug. 6, 2010, will be at 11 a.m. today at Church of Christ-God’s Son with the Rev. Sam Watkins Jr. officiating.

Burial will follow at Daughters of Zion Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Archie C. Curtis Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time today at the church.

Mr. Dixon was born Sept. 5, 1916, in Church Hill, the son of George and Rachel Jones Dixon. He was self-employed as a logger.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings.

Survivors include his wife, Alice Green Dixon; four daughters, Amy Jones, Adine Moore, Josie Moore and husband, Johnnie, and Rosie Dixon; one son, Sam Dickson; one sister-in-law, Janie Murphy; three stepdaughters, Rosie Lee Williams, Marguerite Green and Barbara Childs and husband, Don; special nephew, Patrick Wallace; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and a number of great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be friends of the family.
