FERRIDAY — James Wheeler Jr., of Ferriday, formerly of New Orleans, died Saturday, Oct. 23, 2010, at Riverside Hospital in Alexandria, La.

Burial of his ashes will be at the Holt Cemetery in New Orleans at a later date.

Arrangements are under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.

Mr. Wheeler was born April 6, 1928, in Baton Rouge, the son of James and Pearl Sampson Wheeler.

Survivors include one niece, Latricia “Denise” Henderson and her family.
