LISMORE, La. — Services for Charles E. “Buddy” Walters III, of Jonesville, who died Sunday, Jan. 16, 2011, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at 10 a.m. today at Lismore Baptist Church, in Lismore, La., with the Rev. Paul Stephens, the Rev. C.D. Beard, the Rev. Ralph Webber and the Rev. Kevin Sims officiating.

Burial will follow at the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time today at the church.

Mr. Walters was born Oct. 9, 1923, in Natchez, the son of Charles Elmer Walters Jr. and Mollie Elizabeth Parker Walters.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, baby Walters and Lillian Stone.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Willeen Brown Walters; one daughter, Marilyn Crouch and husband, Gene Storey, of Monterey; three granddaughters, Kim Book and husband, Donnie, of Sulphur, La., Kris Crouch and husband, Tom Davis, and Kerri Boykin and husband, Tommy, all of Monterey; two great-grandchildren, Waylon Carl Book of Monterey and Jessi Duhon and husband, John, of Sulphur; two special friends, William Hankins and Fred “Junior” Quinley, both of Sulphur; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Waylon Book, Jack Crane, Jack Mount, Charles Rushing, Willard Enfinger and Pete Wheeler.

Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Bordelon, Gilbert McMillin, Curtis Savoy, Brennen Russell and the deacons and his traing union class of Lismore Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lismore Baptist Church.
