Columbus Carr Sr.

FAYETTE — Memorial services for Columbus Carr Sr., 69, of Fayette, who died Monday, Jan. 17, 2011, at the Veterans Administration Center in Jackson, will be at 5 p.m. today at Rollins Funeral Home Chapel in Fayette with the Rev. Percy Turner officiating.

Visitation will be from noon to 6:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Also, services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Bates Christian Methodist Episcopal Church in Coldwater.

Burial will follow at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery in Coldwater under the direction of Rollins Funeral Home.

Mr. Carr was born Aug. 4, 1941, in Coldwater, the son of Sammie C. Williams and Lue Frances Carr. He was employed by Jefferson County Correction Center in Fayette as a correction officer. He attended Pine Grove Baptist Church in Fayette and Bates Christian Methodist Episcopal Church.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Survivors include a number of relatives and friends.
