Daisy Jenkins

WATERPROOF — Services for Daisy Banks Jenkins, 82, of Los Angeles, formerly of Waterproof, who died Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2011, at Olympia Medical Center in Los Angeles, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Springfield Baptist Church in Waterproof with the Rev. Ike Byrd III officiating.

Burial will follow at Loamland Cemetery in Waterproof under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

Mrs. Jenkins was born Jan. 28, 1928, in Waterproof, the daughter of James and Lettie Banks. She was employed by Concordia and Tensas Parish School System as a teacher.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, the Rev. Henry Jenkins.

Survivors include three nephews, Doyle Banks, Clarence Singleton and Perry L. Singleton, all of Los Angeles; four nieces, Bobbie Haynes of Houston, Texas, Erma Banks, Shirley Pitts and Darlene Banks, all of Los Angeles; and one sister, Barbara Davis of Los Angeles.
