FAYETTE — A property-owner discovered a human skeleton on his land off of Mississippi 33 in Jefferson County earlier today.

According to reports from Jefferson County Coroner Lee Felton the remains appear to be those of an elderly white female.

Felton said the discovery of the skeleton is under investigation by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
