FERRIDAY — Services for Martha Rosetta Christenson, 100, of Ferriday, who died Saturday April 23, 2011, will be at Young’s Funeral Home in Ferriday at 2 p.m. Tuesday, with Bro. Larry Wagoner officiating.

Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Natchez under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends at Young’s Funeral Home in Ferriday from noon until service time on Tuesday.

Ms. Christenson was born Nov. 7, 1910, to parents William M. and Christina Atwood. She was a resident of Ferriday, a homemaker and a member of Westside Baptist Church. She was employed for 20 years at Ferriday Lower Elementary in the lunch cafeteria and volunteered at the Store Front Mission for over 10 years until the age of 93.

Ms. Christenson was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Christenson and husband Ben Wallace; her parents; one son, James Wallace; sisters Della Lawrence and Annie Jacques; brothers Monroe Atwood, Alfred Atwood and Johnny Atwood; granddaughter Theressa Cervantes and son-in-law John Allen.

Survivors include her daughters, Fran Allen of Ferriday, Ruby Arnott and husband George of Sioux Falls, S.D. and Shirley Wilkinson and her husband John of Picayune. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
