FERRIDAY — Services for Marion Leslie “Sonny” McClure Jr., 82, of Wildsville, La., who died Tuesday, April 26, 2011, in Jonesville, will be at 3 p.m. today at Young’s Funeral Home with the Rev. Kenn Gordon and the Rev. Clyde Grammon officiating.

Burial will follow at Evangeline Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home in Ferriday.

Mr. McClure was born April 16, 1929, in Utility, La., the son of Marion Leslie McClure Sr. and Cora Lee Arthur McClure. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Harrisonburg. He also served his country in the U.S. Army.

Mr. McClure was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Bonnie McNeely, Minnie Tullos and Dorothy Barton; and one great-granddaughter, Carly Renee Eames.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Martha Nessmith McClure; one daughter, Sharon Wilson and husband, Ronnie, of Wildsville; one son, Darron McClure of Alexandria, La.; one granddaughter, Leslie Eames and husband, Donny, of Ferriday; one grandson, Jason Wilson of Wildsville; one great-granddaughter, Olivia Grace Eames of Ferriday; and two brothers, Arthur Lee “Buddy” McClure and Larry D. McClure, both of Wildsville.

Pallbearers will be Jason Wilson, Charlie Duck, Ples Arthur, Brannon Arthur, Barrett Arthur, Tony Tullos and Wayne Cavanaugh.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Huey Moak, Bobby King, Floyd Middleton and Bobby Emrick.
