NATCHEZ — Services for Helen Kent, 89, of Natchez, who died Saturday, June 11, 2011, at the Oktibbeha County Hospital in Starkville, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Laird Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Roy Tidwell officiating.

Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from noon until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Kent was born Dec. 15, 1921, in Bath Springs, Tenn., the daughter of John Murray Alton and Floy Akin Alton. She was one of the original members of Immanuel Baptist Church in Natchez.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Winfield W. Kent; and one brother, Mac Alton.

Survivors include one son, John W. Kent and wife, Linda, of Marble Falls, Texas; one daughter, Judy Kent of Starkville; four grandchildren, Jay Yates and wife, Amy, Caprice Kent, Andy Yates and wife, Karen, and Heather Kent; three great-grandchildren, Josh Yates, Kent Yates and Mallaree Kent.

Pallbearers will be Jay Yates, Andy Yates, Kent Yates, Josh Yates, Austin Weeks and Paul Stein.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer Foundation.
