FERRIDAY — Services for Della Mae Baxter, 83, of Ferriday, who died Monday, June 13, 2011, at Riverland Medical Center in Ferriday, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Young’s Funeral Home with the Rev. Glen Harrigill officiating.
Burial will follow at the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Baxter was born Aug. 1, 1927, in Kansas, the daughter of Roy L. Winscott and Nellie Winscott. She was a homemaker and a member of Ferriday Church of God.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles T. Baxter; her parents; one son, Donnie John Baxter; and two sisters, Lillie Winscott and Blanche Winscott.
Survivors include two sons, Ronald Baxter Sr. and wife, Carla, and Paul Wayne Baxter, all of Ferriday; one daughter-in-law, Kathy Baxter of Natchez; two brothers, Donald Winscott of Houston, Texas and John Winscott of Independence, Mo.; one sister, Hazel Bull of St. Joseph, Mo.; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Mitchel Baxter, Pete Guillott, Merle McNeese, Jack Brown, James Ola Jr., Brandon Whittington and Bob McNeese.
