NATCHEZ – Memorial services for Sidney Joess Davis Trimble, 88, who died Sunday, July 3, 2011, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at First Presbyterian Church.

Graveside services will follow at the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time Friday at Stratton Chapel.

Joess was born Jan. 9, 1923, in Natchez, the city that she would love for the rest of her life. She was the devoted wife of Adrian Trimble for 65 years and the loving mother of four daughters.

Joess wanted nothing more from life than to have and nurture a family. She was a friend to all who knew her, including children and animals. She had a strong faith in God and demonstrated that faith in serving her family and others. Her favorite causes were the Natchez Humane Society, the Natchez City Cemetery and First Presbyterian Church, where she worshiped all of her life, following in the footsteps of her great-grandfather, the Rev. Joseph Buck Stratton who was the minister there for more than 50 years.

She was preceded in death by her infant son, Adrian Randolph Trimble Jr.; her mother Lisa Stratton Davis; her father, Alfred Vidal Davis III; two sisters, Carolyn Stratton Eidt and Lisa Vidal Postlethwaite; and one brother, Alfred Vidal “Buddy” Davis IV.

Survivors include her husband, Adrian Randolph Trimble; four daughters, Sidney House, Margo Uter, Lisa Trott and Dodie Inman and their husbands; 10 grandchildren, Conner House, Adrienne Frith, Linden Uter, Ginny Willcox, Anna Trott, Will Trott, Caddie Inman, Macrery Inman, Preston Inman and Mason Inman; one great-granddaughter, Linden Brooke Willcox; and a number of nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to her caregivers, Becky Allen and Sue Mann, for their untiring devotion and support.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Natchez Humane Society, the Natchez City Cemetery or First Presbyterian Church of Natchez.
