NATCHEZ — Robert Jay Nance, 70, of Natchez, died Saturday, July 30, 2011, at Natchez Community Hospital.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date.

Mr. Nance was born Dec. 13, 1940, in Natchez, the son of James Daniel Nance and Eunice Thelma Sanford.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one son-in-law, Swayze Walker Gardner.

Survivors include a loving and devoted wife, Peggy Dean Nance; three daughters, Cathy Nance Smith, Deanna Nance and Laquita Renee Gardner; three grandchildren, Dalton Everett Smith, Chelsea Danielle Smith and Jayden Renee Gardner; one sister, Marie Seitzinger; and a number of other relatives and friends.
