VIDALIA — Services for B.D. “Bubba” Edens Jr., 78, of Vidalia, who died Saturday, Aug. 13, 2011, at his residence, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Laird Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Jerry Williams and Elder Jerry Britt officiating.

Burial will follow at the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Edens was born Dec. 20, 1932, in Bude, the son of Bascom D. Edens Sr. and Evelyn Farrell Edens. He was a member of the Salem Primitive Baptist Church.

Mr. Edens was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Florence Edens; one grandson, Jonathon D. Edens; one brother; and one sister.

Survivors include one daughter, Becky J. Edens; one son, John L. Edens; two grandsons, James D. Edens and Michael L. Edens; three great-grandchildren, Alyssa Edens, Zaiser D. Edens and Ethan J. Edens; one sister, Rebecca Littig; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be James D. Edens, Michael Edens, Hunter Bradford, Tillmon Bishop, Tom Latham and Johnny Edens.

Honorary pallbearers will be James Cotton and Ken Whittington.
