Natchez — Two men were reportedly caught red-handed burglarizing Arlington on Main Street Wednesday afternoon by a Natchez Police officer.
Natchez Police Chief Mike Mullins said the officer, Lee Mizell, was performing a routine check of Arlington when he found Bennie Alexander, 45, 16 Pheasant Road, Roxie, and Kelvin L. Mitchell, 31, 642 Maple St., removing doorknobs, fireplace grates and molding from the abandoned property.
Mitchell and Alexander were arrested and charged with grand larceny. No bond has been set for the men.
Mullins said officers routinely check Arlington because of past vandalism.
