JENA, La. — Graveside services for Lou Ellen Parish, 72, of Jonesville, who died Monday, Oct. 17, 2011, at Christus St. Francis Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria, La., will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Woodlawn Cemetery in Jena, La., with the Rev. James Carson and the Rev. Jack Colclasure officiating.

Burial will follow under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home in Jonesville.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today and from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Friday, both at the funeral home.

Mrs. Parish was born Dec. 10, 1938, in Jonesville, the daughter of Louis Newt Montpelier and Loberta Emma Montpelier. She was a 1960 graduate of Alexandria Beauty School. She and her sister, Glendon, opened Two Sisters Beauty Salon in 1963, where she continued to work until her death.

Her love was her grandchildren. She also enjoyed traveling, working with her flowers in her yard and antique shopping.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Dewey Parish Jr.; her parents; and one brother, Gerald Montpelier.

Survivors include two daughters, Michelle Coody and husband, Jeff, of Pineville, La., and Felicia Mullen and husband, David, of Baton Rouge; one son, Curtis D. Parish and wife, Elizabeth, of Jonesville; two sisters, Sherron Harris and husband, Bobby, of Jonesville and Glendon White of Gulfport; two brothers, Hinson Montpelier and wife, Joyce, of Jonesville and Larry Montpelier of Vicksburg; two grandsons, Nicholas Parish of Fort Sill, Okla., and Paul Parish of Jonesville; four granddaughters, Lindsay Mullen, Katherine Mullen, Mary Mullen and Sarah Mullen, all of Baton Rouge; three brothers-in-law, George Parish and wife, Jimmie, of Radford, Va., James “Tuffy” Parish and wife, Ginger, of Jonesville and Richard “Petey” Parish and wife, Tonda, of Tampa, Fla.

Pallbearers will be Nicholas Parish, Paul Parish, Jimbo Pardue, Arnie Pardue, Burton McDaniel, Dwayne Harris, Larry Montpelier Jr. and James Parish.

Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Brown, David Parish, Terry Lee Bacon, Justin Solomon, Robert Lee Swayze, Ronnie Swayze and Tyler Coody.

Special thanks to Dr. Karsan, Dr. McCoy, Dr. Morrison, Dr. Bennett and the ICU physicians. Also, heart-felt appreciation to the wonderful ICU nursing staff.
