Mrs. Stratton Drew Thompson

Elizabeth Summerskill Milliken of Ferriday and Stratton Drew Thompson of Natchez were married Saturday, Nov. 12, 2011, at 6:30 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church of Natchez with the Rev. Denny Read and the Rev. Noelle Read officiating.

Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Tom Terry Milliken II of Ferriday and Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Grady Thompson of Natchez.

Maternal grandparents of the couple are the late Mr. and Mrs. Tom Terry Milliken Sr., and the late Mr. and Mrs. John Bennett Fudickar Sr., and Mrs. Randall Elkins Wright, great-aunt of the bride.

Paternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Charles Frances Patterson Jr. of Church Hill and Mrs. Henry Grady Thompson and the late Mr. Thompson of Tylertown.

Music for the ceremony was provided by Jeanie Lanneau. Scripture readings were presented by Jennifer Scott Beach and Dustin Ulrich Miller. Program attendants were Amelia Wren Alexander, Grace Katherine Alexander and Mallie Drummond Miller. Assisting at the wedding were Mrs. Richard Alwood and Mrs. Barry Maxwell. Flowers for the ceremony and reception were arranged by Mrs. Richard Harriss.

The bride was given in marriage by her father, Tom Terry Milliken II. Her gown was of ivory re-embroidered Alencon lace and silk shantung. The strapless dress had a sweetheart neckline and a rouched band of silk shantung at the waist. The A-line skirt swept to a chapel-length train. Her chapel-length veil of ivory illusion and Alencon lace had been re-designed and custom made for the bride using the exquisite antique French Alencon Pointe d’Esprit lace from a family veil worn by her aunt, Mrs. Maurice Jean Gremillion.

Meghan Kelly of Los Angeles served as maid of honor and Ginny Gremillion Thompson of Little Rock, Ark., served as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Emily Cole Dawkins of Lafayette, La., Annie O’Laurie Fowler of New Orleans, Shannon Thompson Goodwin of Birmingham, Ala., Shannon Kelly of San Francisco, Leia Smith Freeman and Bridget Anders Milliken, both of Ferriday, Gloria Dupont Marchand of Baton Rouge, and Bessie Colette Thompson of Monroe, La. The bridesmaid dresses were designed by LulaKate in ginger silk dupioni. They featured three different necklines, which included a strapless sweetheart, one-shoulder and cross-over V-neck with a long straight skirt.

Flower girls were Mary Bennett Marchand and Virginia Wren Marchand, both of Baton Rouge.

Frank Arliss Holland III served as best man. Groomsmen were Joshua Glynn Beach, John Ballew Carlton, Robert Joseph Guedon, Hunter Nicholson Ogden and Ryan Garrett Porter, all of Natchez, Thomas Howard Goodwin and Rodrick Rendell Ragland, both of Birmingham, Tom Terry Milliken III of Ferriday and James Cayce Wilkinson of Baton Rouge.

Noah Tlou Goodwin of Birmingham was ring bearer.

Honorary groomsmen were James Lee Davidson Jr. of Natchez and the late Kramer Fife.

Ushers were Michael Patrick Beasley of Madison, Benjamin Carney Long of Natchez, Adam John Flynn and Travis Brent Taunton, both of Metairie.

A reception was held at the Bryant O. Hammett Jr. Conference and Convention Center in Vidalia following the ceremony. Assisting at the wedding and reception were Mrs. Richard Alwood, Mrs. Barry Maxwell, Mrs. Billy Nelson, Mrs. Glynn Tiser and Miss Rene Adams.

After a wedding trip to New Orleans, the couple will live in Natchez.
