Editor’s note: The original version of this story incorrectly reported the number of months The Landing had been open. The restaurant was open about five months before it closed. We regret the error and are happy to set the record straight.
NATCHEZ — The Landing restaurant Under-the-Hill closed earlier this month, just about five months after it opened.
The restaurant’s owner, Pat McDaniel, said he had no comment on the closing of the restaurant.
Barrett Nobile and his family and the Biglane family of Natchez own properties Under-the-Hill, and leased the location to McDaniel.
Nobile said he was not sure why The Landing closed.
“I guess it wasn’t doing the business they thought it was going to do,” he said.
Nobile said he renovated the restaurant’s location prior to the opening of the restaurant and was hoping the restaurant would be successful.
“I was hoping there would be a little more activity Under-the-Hill, but some things work out and some things don’t,” he said. “It was a pleasure working with Pat, and he took a good shot at it, but it just didn’t work out.
Nobile said a couple of people are looking at the location, but he said the future of The Landing’s location is uncertain now.
