NATCHEZ — Services for Harry Roth, 88, of Vidalia, who died Saturday, Sept. 15, 2012, at Promise Hospital, will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2012, at Laird Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Richard Cullum officiating.

Burial will follow at Harris Rawls Cemetery near Brookhaven with military rites under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Mr. Roth was born Jan. 10, 1924, in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., the son of Lee Roth and Hilda Snyder Roth.

Mr. Roth was a 30-year veteran of the U.S. Army and served in World War II, the Korean conflict and the Vietnam War. His bravery earned him a Purple Heart. He maintained the rank of first sergeant until his retirement in 1972.

Mr. Roth was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Bernice Roth.

Survivors include two sons, Richard Roth of Vidalia and Dustin Cross of Gauthier; one daughter, Tammy Crosby of Vidalia, seven grandchildren, Crystal Hanley and husband, Chris, Bethany Stricklin and husband, Michael, Richard Roth II and Kristy Andrews, all of Vidalia, Geoffrey Cosby and Kristin Cosby, both of Natchez, and Brittany Cosby of Bogue Chitto; five great-grandchildren, Michael Aaron Stricklin, Sidnee Roth, Avery Stricklin, Kaylee Roth and Payton Roth.

Pallbearers will be members of the U.S. Army Honor Guard.
