HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. — Services for Albert Tyler Morace Jr., 69, of Browning Place, Hopkinsville, Ky., who died Thursday, Sept. 20, 2012 at Jennie Stuart Medical Center following a long illness will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Hughart & Beard Funeral Home in Hopkinsville with the Rev. Jesse Brown officiating.
Burial with full military honors will follow in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West under the direction of Hughart & Beard Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
A native of Eva, La., Mr. Morace was born September 15, 1943, the son of the late Albert Tyler and Gladys Morace.
An Army veteran, Sgt. Major Morace served 27 years as a paratrooper. He served two tours in Vietnam with the 5th Special Forces Group. He was the recipient of the Purple Heart and Bronze Star.
He was a member of Casky Baptist Church. He was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Disabled American Veterans and a lifetime member and past serving officer of Chapter 38, Special Forces Association at Fort Campbell, Ky.
He was preceded in death by his five sisters, Bernice Clark, Freda Nelson, Jerry Hedrick, Helen Tiffe and Peggy Breland.
Survivors include his wife, Geraldine “Gerrie” Morace; his two sons, Albert Tyler Morace III and wife, Jeanette, of Houston, Texas, and Armond Wendell Morace and wife, Natalie, of Greenville, N.C.; his daughter, Meghann Lynn Greenwood and husband, Patrick, of Barstow, Calif.; and two grandchildren, Emalee Terese Adams of Barstow, Calif., and Lauren Kala Morace of Greenville, N.C.
