NATCHEZ — Services for Jannet Douglas Cox, 65, of Clinton and former resident of Natchez, who died Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012, at Select Specialty Hospital in Jackson, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Laird Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dan Wynn officiating.
Burial will follow in Allen Cemetery in Allen, Okla.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. today and 9 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Mrs. Cox was born May 21, 1947, in Marlow, Okla., the daughter of Clifford L. Douglas and M. Alice Wallace Douglas.
Mrs. Cox fought a courageous battle with breast cancer for 14 years. She was a wonderful mother, daughter, sister and grandmother. After years as a beautician, she went back to college at 41. Mrs. Cox graduated from Copiah-Lincoln Community College and went on to get her bachelor’s degree at Mississippi College and her law degree at Mississippi College School of Law. She was a woman that many people respected and was a role model.
Survivors include her parents; daughter, Barbara Bradley and husband, James, of Clinton; seven grandchildren, Blaine Misita, Madelyn Misita, both of Natchez, Katie Robinson and husband, Ken, of Meridian, Chase Bradley of Philadelphia, Ainsley Cox, Jessica Payne and Joseph Blalock, all of Natchez; great-grandchild, Seth Bryant of Meridian; brother, Clifford Cox and wife, Suzanne, of Natchez; two sisters, Sharron Carrier and husband, Mick, of Melbourne, Fla., and Carolyn Tillman of Natchez; three nephews, R.J. Skellie of Orlando, Fla., Rob Tillman and Doug Tillman, and niece, Lee Staten and husband, Richard, of Atlanta.
