NATCHEZ — Graveside services celebrating the life of legendary author, teacher and beloved Natchez native Josephine Ayres Haxton, whose pen name is Ellen Douglas, 91, will be at 3:30 p.m. today at her family’s lot at Natchez City Cemetery with the Rev. Martha Packer Sterne of Holy Inocents’ Episcopal Church in Atlanta officiating.

Services are under the direction of Holland Funeral Chapel of Tupelo.

A time for her Jackson family and friends to reflect on her life will be from 10 to 11:30 a.m. today at Ellen Douglas Room, Eudora Welty Library in downtown Jackson.
