NATCHEZ — Services for Richard Fitzgerald Lyons, 58, of Natchez, who died Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012, at his residence, will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at True Bibleway Second Generation Church with the Rev. Maurice Irving officiating.
Burial will follow at the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Robert D. Mackel and Sons Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Lyons was born July 26, 1954, in Natchez, the son of Linton Fitzgerald Sr. and Irene Ikard Fitzgerald. He was adopted and reared by Frank Lyons and Lula Porterfield Lyons.
Mr. Lyons was a 1972 graduate of North Natchez High School and served in the U.S. Army. He was a former employee with Dynasteel and was also a security guard.
Mr. Lyons was preceded in death by four siblings, Freddie Fitzgerald, Allene Price, Louvania Oliver and Robert Louis Fitzgerald.
Survivors include his wife, Annette Jackson Lyons; one daughter, Jennifer Lyons of Natchez; one stepdaughter, Kimberly Wiley of California; mother-in-law, Geneva Jackson of Natchez; one brother, Linton Fitzgerald Jr.; 10 sisters, Dorothy Howard and husband, CH, of Little Rock, Ark., Beulah Fitzgerald, Loretta Fitzgerald, Doris Fitzgerald, Shirley Frazier and husband, Billie Joe, all of Natchez, Alma Morris, Bertha Thomas, Ethel Fitzgerald, Betty Ellzey and Annette Fitzgerald, all of California; one aunt, Althea F. Ford of Natchez; two uncles, Will T. Fitzgerald and wife, Nan, of Vidalia and Robert Ikard Jr. of Los Angeles; four brothers-in-law, Ronnie Fleming and wife, Pat, Andrew Jackson, Van Jackson and Roosevelt Williams; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
