ST. FRANCISVILLE — Memorial services for Jenny Prescott, 78, formerly of Natchez, who died Friday, Nov. 23, 2012, will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Grace Episcopal Church in St. Francisville with a reception following the service in Jackson Hall.
Mrs. Prescott’s body was donated to medical research at her request.
A resident of St. Francisville for the last several years, Mrs. Prescott has lived a full life as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.
She is to be remembered as a celebrant of Trinity Episcopal Church, a Pilgrimage Garden Club member, a talented lady starring in many lead roles with the Natchez Little Theatre and a faithful woman devoting herself as a member of the Natchez Junior Auxiliary to projects that cared for those who were less fortunate.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Delia Garner and John Frederick Leonard of Laurel; one brother, John “Fred” Leonard Jr., and an infant daughter, Hope Prescott.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Richard “Dick” Prescott; one daughter, Margaret Lynn Ballard and husband Troy of St. Francisville; one son, Richard Hartman Prescott Jr. and wife Patty Williams Prescott of Natchez; five grandchildren, Alyson Ballard Bell and husband Jason of St. Francisville, Richard “Rick” Prescott III and wife Alison Swalm Prescott of Natchez, Tara Grace Jones and husband Chris, Kate Prescott Rollins and husband Jason and Troy Allen “Tab” Ballard III, all of Baton Rouge; six great-grandchildren, Mary Camille Bell, Rachel Prescott, Richard Prescott IV, Emma Bell, Griffen Rollins and Thomas Jones.
