MONTEREY — Services for Adeline Gallup, 85, of Monterey, who died Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, in Vidalia, were 10 a.m. Tuesday at Monterey First Baptist Church with the Rev. John Rushing and the Rev. Eddie Davis officiating.

Burial followed at Oswalt Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.

Mrs. Gallup was born Aug. 1, 1927, in Larto, La., the daughter of Benjamin F. Wiley and Zellie A. Wiley. She was an avid gardener and a member of Monterey First Baptist Church.

Mrs. Gallup is preceded in death by her husband, Alvin E. Gallup; her parents; three sisters, Helen Wilson, Carrie Price and Lorena Carter; and one brother, Bennie Wiley.

Survivors include two daughters, Linda G. Wilson and husband, Billy, and Tammy G. Shields and husband, Clare, all of Vidalia; one son, Mickey A. Gallup and wife, Diane, of Winnsboro, La.; four grandsons, Kyle Wilson and wife, Rhonda, Dusty Gallup and wife, Whitney, Benjamin G. Shields and wife, Emily, and Nathan Gallup; two granddaughters, Melody W. Earnheart and husband, Grady, and Sarah S. Johnson and husband, Will; five great-grandchildren, Lyndsie W. Nelams and husband, Colby, Thomas Earnheart, Justus Gallup, Trey Johnson and Bryan Johnson; one brother, Sidney Wiley and wife, Charlotte, of Monterey; two brothers-in-law, Jack Gallup and wife, Alice, and Dewey Gallup and wife, Donna; two sisters-in-law, Ruth Wilson and husband, Buddy, and Nila Mount and husband, Jack; two dear friends, Mary Lou Warren and Brownie Shirley; a number of nieces, nephews, church family; and two special four-legged friends, Lizzie and Chan.

Pallbearers were Benjamin Shields, Colby Nelams, Dusty Gallup, Grady Earnheart, Kyle Wilson, Nathan Gallup and Will Johnson.

Honorary pallbearers were Ricky Barfield and Ricky Bryan.
