NATCHEZ — Services for Sylvia Sartin Mayfield, 60, of Natchez, who died Tuesday, April 30, 2013, at her residence, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at First Baptist Church in Natchez with Dr. Doug Broome officiating.

Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. until service time Friday, both at the church.

Sylvia was born Aug. 12, 1952, in Batesville, the daughter of William Houston Sartin and Vera Jean McGregor Sartin. She was a devoted wife and mother, who enjoyed reading and cooking.

Sylvia was a member and former board member of the Natchez-Adams County Humane Society and a member of the Pilgrimage Garden Club.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Survivors include her husband, Chuck Mayfield; one daughter, Kaitlyn Mayfield of Natchez; her mother of Oxford; one brother, Andy Sartin of Natchez; and one sister-in-law, Jan Mayfield Stairhime and husband, Richard, of Huntsville, Ala.

Pallbearers will be Ryan Wingfield, David Gardner, Scott Slover, David Atkins, Bill McGregor and Wayne Rabb.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Natchez-Adams County Humane Society.
